The Naples Sailing and Yacht Club – Commodores Cruise July 25, 2022 On The Blue Danube with Helen Keplinger & DJ Warner
Join Commodore Tom McCarthy and his lovely wife, Dianne on the picturesque “river of kings” as it carves a winding path through a total of ten modern-day European nations with landscapes characterized by vineyards, forested slopes, wine-producing villages and imposing fortresses that remain a testimony to kingdoms and culture… regal, romantic and ready to welcome Tauck river cruisers.
You’ll visit Prague, Bratislava, Regensburg, Vienna, Budapest and Salzburg.
All of this history while learning about the wines of the region from one of the top wine makers in the United States with wines continually rated from 92 to 99.
Keplinger is a boutique husband and wife winery focused on single-vineyard wines from compelling sites in Napa, Sonoma, and the Sierra Foothills. Helen started the wine label with Rhone varietals after making wine in Priorat, Spain for three years. Working with both young and old vine Grenache on llicorella soil in a variety of microclimates was a quick and deep study in the beauty of terroir – this experience, and many years of apprenticeship with brilliant mentors like Heidi Barrett, and making wine in Napa Valley have greatly informed her winemaking philosophy and practices. She was named “Winemaker of the Year” in 2012 by Food and Wine Magazine, and honored with the cover story of the June 2014 Wine Spectator. Bottlings of Keplinger have been rated by various top critics, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator & Jeb Dunnuck, from 92 through 99 points. With traditional methods in the winery – native yeasts, low-sulfur aging and bottling, no fining or filtration – these wines are made to be the purest expression of site and vintage possible. www.keplingerwines.com
Join us as we cruise from Prague to Budapest and also visit Bratislava, Regensburg, Vienna and Salzburg.
